OBJECTIVES
  


The UKCPO is a leadership organisation
which aims to:
maximise the wealth creation potential
of the photonics community in the UK
actively foster the realisation of wealth
creation opportunities wherever
possible
to build up the UK infrastructure, and
provide a healthy environment in
photonics
to increase:
communication between the UK
photonics manufacturing sector,
research, academia and users and
promote technology transfer
the understanding and uptake of
photonics techniques and
equipment by UK industry
to provide:
a unified national body to act and
speak for photonics in the UK
public information on activities in the
field of photonics, raise public and
media awareness and act as a
central point of contact and
information exchange on products
and research
to undertake a role in coordinating
training for its members, UK industry,
and in assisting Universities in
maintaining the relevance of their
courses to the needs of industry
to act as an information source
